Capt. Rich Benevento
When Capt. Rich retired in Jan. 2002, his family was concerned. The big question was, “What will keep him busy after being a police Sgt. In the City of Paterson”? Rich already knew the answer. As a diver with more than 20 years of diving experience he wanted to work in the dive industry. As a PADI Master Instructor and Capt. on the John Jack he has filled his days with great experiences and stories of his adventures. An avid North East diver with diving experience ranging from the Caribbean to the South Pacific he is very happy when he is at the helm running the John Jack to it’s next adventure.

One of Rich’s favorite memories include a story of a great day of diving and having just completed a wreck diver class with a newer NE diver everyone was talking about the dive. He overheard on of the divers comment, “I’m tired, but this beats work”. Capt. Rich readily agreed and then added, “better yet, I am working”.
