Welcome to 2008 and another great year of East Coast Wreck Diving aboard the John Jack

Our schedule for 2008 is available here.

If you listen very closely you can hear it, a far off noise, growing a little bit louder each week. Since Christmas you have heard it. It stated out as a small, almost annoying buzz in you ear. Now you can make it out better, but you’re still not sure what it is. As the weeks go by, it becomes like a familiar friend, always there, lurking in the back ground of your consciousness. Suddenly, one day it hits you, you know what that sound is. It is a sound that fills you with joy, for no particular reason you can think of. It is the sound of an 800 horse power diesel engine spooling up, you can hear the turbo charger start to whine in protest. This sound can only mean one thing, the 2008 dive season is approaching fast. So much to do, so much to get ready, so many plans to make. Quick, let me call Captain Zero before it’s too late. Time to book my dive trips aboard the John Jack.

What the heck, it’s February, the heart of the winter, it can’t be time. But it is. The 2008 John Jack schedule is here. I am proud to present the schedule for your perusal. As you can see, we start diving at the end of April, as usual. We ramp up slowly, until the turbo chargers really kick in, in June. As you go over the schedule, you will see that I have kept the boat much more local this year. No trip to Hatteras, and Montauk has been cut back to less than a month. On average, we have a closed charter every other weekend, with mid week open boats for dredging and night dives. Every other weekend, has trips available for you to get on. Either thru open boats, or trips with shops that you can book with. When a shop has a trip on our schedule, they show up as hyper links directly to the shop or organization that has booked the boat. No more searching for phone numbers. Once you call them and book your spot, you revert right back to our schedule page. Our webmaster Vern has been hard at work. Night dives are self explanatory, but you are probably wondering what dredging trips are. Suffice to say, they are a lot of fun, but for a better explanation look in news and reports. In there, you will find information on both night dives and dredging trips.

As you go thru the schedule, you will see some old friends like RJ. at Treasure Cove, Richie Kohler from the Deep Sea Detectives, as well as several friends you have yet to meet. The guys at Manta products have booked a day in June, to have you out, and get acquainted with their equipment. The Shark Research Institute from Princeton has a day with us in May. Blue Water Divers, and Divers Two right here in Avon are joining us for a few days also.

We have really worked hard to put together great season of diving. Try something new, meet new divers. Reconnect with some old ones. The John Jack is located near many attractions such as the Point Pleasant Board Walk, and Jenkinson’s aquarium, to name a few. There is also a goody bag full of fine restaurants to tease your palate. So plan some after dive time before you head home from the New Jersey Shore. As always the crew and Captain of the John Jack invite you to stay aboard the night before your trip, free of charge. Come and enjoy our hospitality in a comfortable, air-conditioned salon. We look forward to having you aboard.

Come on out and give us a try !!!
